Life Lately

snow, the beach, and a party bus

It doesn’t really feel like our year ends until the football season ends and we have a minute to catch our breath. Between the holidays, the end of the season, and illnesses that ripped through our house I was crawling through December. But then January hit and we started to see the light at the end of a long football season! We hosted a ski apres New Year’s party, got a party bus for one of the final games of the season, and then snuck away for a Mom and Dad trip to Mexico to kick off the off-season. 10/10 would recommend every bit of it!

I’ve always loved a good themed party and having our family go all in with the theme and activities was such a fun way to cap off the year. We played games, had great conversation, and OH… passed around the stomach bug! The Frazier family trauma bonded to begin the year! We were all healthy just in time for the final game of the regular season and we lived it up in a party bus to celebrate. It was a bit of a joke for the night that this was my first party bus but I can assure you it will not be my last (2nd row, 1st photo, I was thriving!).

The last row of photos is from our trip to Mexico. A last minute get away for Parks and I that was as wonderful as no kids, all-inclusive, and 85 degrees and sunny sounds. Parks spent about half of this trip on zoom calls for work but we decided zoom calls from Mexico were more fun than zoom calls a snowy Philly locked in our house - we were right! We returned home to 24 inches of snow frozen solid in Philadelphia! Back to reality.

We are finding our routine of the off-season now and settling into a new year.

Here’s a few things working for me right now:

5-meal menu of the month

I am making 5 meals this month and 5 meals only! Here’s what I’m doing - 1. chicken thighs + two sides. 2. Salmon Bowls 3. Ground Turkey Bowls 4. Breakfast for Dinner 5. Snack Boards (aka clean out the fridge). I’m halfway through it, and it has been a big success! Grocery store runs are quicker, meals are easier, and it’s easy to tweak things here or there to keep things from getting boring. I even made a cute little menu on Canva and you can make your own here

organizing my freezer

I used some left over plastic storage bins I use in my pantry in my freezer and WHY HAVEN’T I DONE THIS. So quick, so easy and now I actually know what is in my freezer.

new year’s resolution word

I’m on year 6 or 7 of choosing a word for the year. My word for 2026 is depth. I may write about this at some point but the intention of depth for the year has me excited and grounded and super expectant of a meaningful year.

“I deleted social media, cried, and then never thought about it again”

Yes, I cried. Real tears! But then after 1 day, I never thought about getting back on. I never reached for my phone out of a habit to scroll, I never wondered what I was missing, and I’ve yet to feel a desire to get back on. Instagram has felt like an entirely different physical location that I have no interest in visiting.

The first time I downloaded the app after my initial tearful delete was to book an appointment with someone who only books with through instagram direct messages. Then, I deleted it again. It never even crossed my mind to scroll and see what I had missed. It felt like I had hit the reset button on how I use social media.

I loved being off the app and repositioning the platform in my life.

Now, some almost 5 months later, Instagram is no longer my mindless habit of wasting time. I’m jumping back on with the purpose of having people join the note or to book an appointment and connect with that one person. I’ll probably miss your quick life updates but I look forward to truly having things to catch up on

the next time we talk.

sidenotes…

  1. I’m learning the piano this year! I haven’t started but mark my words!!!

  1. I got these Varley boots for Christmas from my in-laws and they are GOOD. Comfortable, elevated, and Varley so we all know it’s amazing quality.

  1. If you’re tall, here are the sweatpants for you. I haven’t stopped wearing these for 3 years now and have multiple colors. Extremely long inseam, pockets, great quality.

  1. I keep my ShopMy active and always window shop. Would love to know if you’re looking for something or just enjoy the things I link on there - let me know!

  1. Parks and I devour shows once the season is over. We LOVE Landman on Paramount+ and thought season 2 was even better than the first. We also love, love, love Shrinking on AppleTV. Would love to know what you’re watching and loving!

  1. I’m reading the Correspondent by Virginia Evans and it is so good! Written completely through letters and I am really enjoying it. Quicker read, different than anything I’ve read.

  1. PR this month! I got sent Cann drinks. Have you heard of these? Yes, Cann as in my maiden name. I’ll link the site!We had the Cranberry Sage Hi Boy and ordered more + trying the lavender! We giggled, I lost allllll motivation, and we slept great. Not a party drink in my experience, but a nice chill way to spend an evening at home. Check them out if this peaks your interest. I was also sent a lash serum from Sweed and hair growth products from Divi - not ready to report on those yet but will let you know. T3 sent me their Flexstyle Hair Blow Dryer + Styler which is nice, but doesn’t work as well for me as my Dyson. I am a huge fan of the SinglePass Curling Iron so was disappointed in this!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading this very first month of the note. This is a way of sharing I’ve always wanted to attempt and it feels really good to have the first one sitting in your inbox.

If you enjoyed it and made it this far, I’d love a quick reply! Seeing your responses literally makes me jump in my seat a little.
